In 2003, a serious car accident left Trevor Clark with a catastrophic spinal fracture. Surgery saved his life. What followed was four years bedridden, battling peripheral neuropathy and fibromyalgia, managed by a cocktail of eleven prescription drugs including narcotic painkillers.
The drugs kept the symptoms in check. They did not give him his life back.
A turning point came when a doctor mentioned “alternative remedies” — almost as an afterthought. That single comment ignited something. Trevor began reading everything he could find about ethnobotany and traditional plant medicine. He discovered a Brazilian tree bark tea that eliminated most of his fibromyalgia symptoms — something eleven pharmaceuticals had failed to do.
That moment changed the trajectory of his life.
Trevor enrolled at Bastyr University, one of the top herbal medicine programs in America. He did not just graduate — he stayed on as adjunct faculty and botanical medicine researcher.
